Manning Kass is a national civil litigation defense firm that stands out from the rest—every case and client matters. Established in 1994 with just sixteen attorneys, we have expanded over the past thirty years to more than 170 attorneys across eight offices, including major economic hubs like New York and Los Angeles.

The Premises Liability Team is seeking an attorney to support and manage its Discovery Docket including the diverse range of cases. The cases involve the defense of restaurants, retail stores, sports clubs, attractions, theaters, and other businesses. The Discovery Litigation Attorney works closely with lead attorneys daily, engaging in all phases of litigation—from case evaluation and discovery —focusing on strategic thinking to achieve client goals.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Draft, propound, and respond to written discovery and subpoenas.
  • Assist with depositions, EUOs, and other discovery proceedings.
  • Prepare discovery memoranda, meet-and-confer correspondence, and related filings.
  • Review pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Develop cost-effective strategies to achieve favorable case outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is required.
  • You must be licensed to practice in the State of California.
  • 2+ years of civil litigation experience, with demonstrated experience managing written discovery, discovery disputes, and document review.
  • Exceptional research and writing abilities, with strong analytical skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

Locations (California): Los Angeles, Costa Mesa and San Diego.

Annual salary range with benefits: $125,000 - $175,000.
