The Housing Intake and Assessment Attorney will work in the Intake and Assessment Unit (IAU) to triage emergency housing issues including preparing stays of execution, motions to set aside, and answers. The attorney will help conduct intake and assessment of new clients, with a focus on Orange County residents, via the CLA SoCal Hotline and outreach events. This full-time, hybrid, exempt position reports to the IAU Supervising Attorney.
Qualifications:
Attorney with a J.D. and active bar membership, preferably with knowledge of housing law and experience using intake systems. Able to manage a high-volume caseload while delivering real-time legal advice and identifying key issues. Strong communicator with excellent writing, technical, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Experienced working with diverse client populations using client-centered, trauma-informed approaches. Bilingual skills (Spanish or Vietnamese) preferred, along with a strong commitment to organizational mission and values.
Annual salary with benefits: $80,000-$98,000.
